his presentation  was good. I believed he got his point across. what I’m going to write about for my annotated bibliography is the south side of Chicago which is the area that I grew up. I was really interested in learning more about my community and how the neighborhood looked after a long period of time. I thought that I was really luck to be from this side of Chicago because you saw a arrange of people everyday in your life. the information that I found about the south side of Chicago was strikingly all negative. it was gun shooting, gang violence and rape. it made it seem that the south side of Chicago was the worst place to live in the world. it didn’t sound like the home I once knew. it sounded like a horror movie but it wasn’t it was real life and its dangerous and scary how real life can be. in the research that I’m doing, I’m going to find some light in the area I once called home

The way I would go about researching my community is to interview people. And ask them question like do you think the community is safe or what is the biggest issue living in this area. I think that it is very easy to research your own community because it’s your community. You live there and you have a firsthand view on what’s going on. You your self can identify the problem and make a solution. But the thing that you can’t do is see how people view your community. To you it might be your own personal little Disney land but the rest of humanity it’s a dump. You must research to prove them wrong. You must identify what the trends are in the neighborhood. Like, is there a recent neighborhood watch or are there recent burglaries in the area. I see now that we must know what is going on in our communities and we must know how to change what has happened in our communities. People are scared out their in the communities that I’m writing about and they just want answers to their problems. I think that it would be wise that we should take the law in or own hands if we see something wrong happening in our communities.

blog 10

I didn’t think that the information was that credible. It lacked depth, it only showed where the places are in the world and that it only told way these places are considered to be black neighborhoods. I think it was very racist because there were all considered to be bad places to live. I live in a black suburb and it’s the safest place to live to me. There are no gangs and no murders in every other black community it seems that there not as safe. I think it’s because of the news. They spread the word that its unsafe to live near blacks because were such dangerous people. And I think I have just answered my own question. Now wonder people are afraid of me I’m big and black. Just joking. But in America this is my reality. I have to know where I am and what I say when I’m in public because I am a black man. I know it seems harsh but that is my reality. I just wish that one day I can be normal for a change and not worry about how people look at me when I’m walking down the street. But beside the point I think that the community itself should change the way we look at black people. Not all of us are evil just some of the time.

blog 8 in the city

i grew up in the city and it was a fun time. i didn't have any complaints. when i was about 7 i moved to the suburbs and found that it was really quiet but safe. when i would go back to visit my family i would see that each year the city looked dirtier and dirtier each year. i didn't think i notice it before when i was younger but i think that it has gotten worse because more and more people are desperate today. the community is very different from the suburbs to the city. there are less black people in the suburbs than they are in the city and i have know idea why. i guess its because people like being around there own race and being apart of something that is more than themselves. now that i think about it more i think that people want to be accepted and liked by people so they tend to live by people that do that. living in the suburbs was not good for me school wise. i hate school and everything it stands for. i had white teacher teach me all my life and they always think of me in a negative way. if i were to go to a school in the city i think that i would have had a better time. but anyways i think that the different communities in Chicago should come together and stop the making it an unsafe place to live.

not to smart blog 8

The YouTube video on George Lakoff is long and really self-explanatory. He didn’t need to have an hour long seminar on how the world is not right. I could have look on channel 9 news today to figure that out. This man is just stating the obvious and telling it to the public. He isn’t making any change to make the world a better place. From what I can tell from him is that he is a selfish man with more degree than anyone he knows so he thinks that he knows something about being an illegal immigrant or a part of a race that is considered urban. He knows nothing of what it’s like to be different. I hate it when someone wants to make a difference but doesn’t have any follow through. These people are called weak. There weak because there best talent is to speak and not do.

bad parent blog 7

Lakoff im gussing isnt black. he problem grew up in a home with both parents a 2.5 childeren and a family dog. i dont think he know what hes talking about having a strict father. to him a strict father was some that wanted him to grow up and be a man and do manly things like camping or to standup for your self if someone is giving you a hard time. i think he means that a strick father has to show strenght and be tuff in the world and thats why fathers seem so dissconnected. Mothers are the care givers and bring happines to the kids life. they make sure that they live and become functioning members of society. to me its nuature before nature. my mom rasied me and my sister by herself with no help from my father. and im graduting this year with out his help. so i do resent him for not being a man and steping up. but when it comes down to the end father dont know how to express there emotions so they just shut down if things get to much for them. but it all dependes on who raises the child more than where the child is raised.

blog 6

I read a story in the drudge report about a 74 year old man flying a 1940’s airplane in a race and was involved in a accident. The article framed that there was something wrong with the plane rather than the man being too old to fly an airplane. People died because of a mistake in the pilot or aircraft and it’s something that they can never get back. To me they should just have told the truth and did a little investigating to see what happened. I think that there are no more investigative journalism out there anymore. People have their own lives to think about and journalists just don’t care anymore. The news always slants in the direction they want to follow and I think it’s wrong. They should just print the truth and nothing else.

I have to agree with Tina her blog said that young black men in America are viewed wrongly and that we have a bad part growing up in America. Her link is http://tchurley216.blogspot.com/ and it was really insightful about what America is all about. It’s not all fairy tales like in the movies. According to Jeanette also framing has everything to do where a person comes from for example. Most of black people are from poor neighborhoods and there for all people think black people are poor. But that’s not the case, society frames blacks into people that you don’t want to be around. For more information please visit the link http://jeanettestressed.blogspot.com/thanks.

crazy blog 4

The articles were framing different politicians that were in that the media trying to change the world in their eyes. but I think if they were really trying to change something they would give up there campaign and start to change people’s lives and be a better person to their world instead of giving empty promises. The articles portrayed the politicians to be the savior of the world when I know that there just in it for their selves. The frames make sense because they all have the same feel about them. There trying to sell us lies. I hate politics and this is the most boring blog to write. These people just waste time in telling the world that they’re going to save it but they really don't do anything. So to me there all worthless. There power relies on the written word and how it changes your view on that particular politician.

bolg 3 mis-under-stand-ing

Misrepresented! Man oh man have I heard this from time to time. You say things but people will always take it the wrong way. People are not the smartest of the bunch. They hear one thing and then it spreads like wild fire. The black kid just wanted to be a policeman when he grew up so he can protect the people he loved. But since the media wanted to curve the story in a other way they cut off the other section were the poor kid said he wanted a gun to be a policeman. Violence is everywhere but it’s not born with in us. We are taught to hate and use violence. Everybody is born with a clean slate or without sin but it’s this cruel world that makes us change and become a bad person or tell a story about a kid how wants to use a gun. But that’s not the case here the case it that the kid still has good left in him and wants to be something, to me that’s the real story. In America the news is slanted and makes people afraid to step out at night. They reframe the words to make it something that isn’t. I hate stupid people. With a passion. a passion that can light 1,000 suns and light 1,000 moons. why caqnt people just be straight up with the person and way cant we just all get along and be NORMAL for a change be your self and be comfortable in the skin that GOD put you in.

work blog2

work to me work is pain. nobody likes to do work, its something that you do so you will not starve of hunger at night. i hate work. all my life when i had to do work i hated it. i would rather be out side playing with my friends or just being a kid. man i cant wait till i get out of school because i will never come back. for me school is work and for as long as i dont have to go to work aka school then i will be a happy man. school is work hands down i hate it and for the teachers its even more work. i cant imagine what teachers go through and how they cope with going to school each day. its like there stuck in a time warp of the 5th grade all over again. when i was in high school i couldnt stand being there and was so happy when i got out. i hated being there beause i had to do work and it was a big waste of time. work to me is a waste of time, if your not doing things that stimulate your mind then whats the point in doing it. i hate school i hate work i hate every thing about the fabric of wasting your life away to work. you should be doing something that you love. i really wanted to be home schoolk but when i was younger it was so important for me to go to a place that would mentally torcher you every time you went. i cant wait till this is all over.

school

what can i say school sucks. to me school is a prison that traps your mind in to thinking that you need it but inm reality you dont. i hate school WITH A PASSION. the only people that need school are people that dont have a clue to what they want to do in life. i already know what i want to do with my life and thats is to make movies. i want to act, direct, produce the works, i want to be in the film industry, dont care how long or how hard it is to get in i just know that its then only thing i want to do. to me college is a joke. its basically just want around all listening to some over paid idiot talking about something that you dont even give a care about. and if you cared you'll be so bored out of your mind that you never want to see that subject again. in my past school was always hard for me. i never felt right going to school, i just wanted to play and be out side. i had al bad teachers they were not the sharpest tool in the shed and they all hated me and i hated them. my best advise is to get out as soon as possible.
